Heron swoops, frog croaks

Saturday 26th March 22 - Charlotte's Pool

The #heron flew in today to sit on the top of the tree. At some point it must have dropped down to the side of the pool. Then suddenly it flew from my right to the banking immediately opposite. I thought it was drinking but when I looked through binoculars, it had a #frog in its beak and was dunking (drowning?) it, before swallowing it whole. I had thought I could hear a frog earlier on in the sit.

The heron then walked along the edge of the pool, in the water and out, and among the reeds. It seemed to be looking for food but didn't catch any, before flying away.

Today I notice the flowers budding on the English Ivy.
